AudioWeb

Privacy Policy

Effective September 28, 2026 · AudioWeb is operated by PORTMAN LLC

In short: AudioWeb does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The music you split, your library and your recordings stay on your own devices.

This policy covers the AudioWeb website (audioweb.app) and the AudioWeb apps for iPhone and Android.

What stays on your device

Songs you import, the stems AudioWeb separates, your library, loops, markers, settings and recordings are processed and stored on your device, in your browser's or the app's own storage. They are never uploaded to us. Deleting a song, the app, or the website's data in your browser removes them.

Sending songs between your devices

When you send songs from a computer to a phone, they travel directly between the two devices over an encrypted connection (WebRTC). To set that connection up, the two devices exchange connection details, which include their network addresses, through our server at audioweb.app. Those details are kept for at most 10 minutes and deleted once the devices have connected. No audio passes through our server.

Downloads

AudioWeb downloads what it needs to work on your device the first time it is needed. The separation, analysis and lyrics models and the demo song come from Hugging Face. On the website, the audio engine (ONNX Runtime) comes from jsDelivr. If those are unreachable, the same files come from our own hosting (Vercel). The iPhone and Android apps carry the analysis models and the audio engine inside the app. Like any web request, these downloads reveal your IP address and device type to those providers. We do not receive or keep that information.

Hugging Face publicly counts how many times our models are downloaded, which is how we know roughly how many devices use AudioWeb. For that count to work, the first time a device downloads a separation model, AudioWeb also requests one small file from Hugging Face. That request carries nothing about you beyond what any download does.

Camera and microphone

The camera is used only to scan the pairing code shown on your computer. The image is read on your device and is never stored or sent anywhere. The microphone is used only when you record a take; recordings stay on your device unless you export or share them yourself.

YouTube (website only)

The website can split the sound of a YouTube video. The video then plays in YouTube's embedded player, which is covered by Google's privacy policy, and its sound is recorded in your browser. The optional AudioWeb helper is a program that runs on your own computer and downloads the audio there. Thumbnails of those videos are loaded from YouTube. The iPhone and Android apps do not import from YouTube.

Hosting

audioweb.app is hosted by Vercel, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request times) to operate and protect the service.

Children

AudioWeb is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal data from anyone.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, export or delete on your behalf; everything AudioWeb stores is on your device and under your control. If you have a question or a request, write to us.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
